How a Wolf Pack works
A chart of a wolf pack's Hierarchy

Hierarchy or Dominance Order

A wolf pack is a family. A wolf pack is usually six to eight wolves, but it can
be as small as two are as many as twenty. A packs territory can be anywhere between twenty
and more than 1,000 square miles.
There are two leaders, a male and a female known as Alphas.
Alpha is the first letter in the greek alphabet.

Next comes the beta, the second letter in the greek alphabet, and the second in command in a pack.
This is often a good hunter, or a loyal fighter.
Usually there is one beta, but sometimes there are two.

The rest of the pack comes next, in an, followed by the pups.
Pups have their own hierarchy within themselves.

Last comes Omega, a wolf that is often a stranger come for shelter and food.
Omega is the last letter in the greek alphabet.
Moving up

To move up in the pack, a wolf will challenge the higher wolf. If the higher wolf accepts,
the two will start a competition, including height, strength, and deepness of growl.
the winner will stand over the loser with their tail straight up. The loser will
lay on their back and tuck their tail against their belly. The winner has the higher wolf's place
in the dominance order, while the lower wolf's position goes to the loser.
